Creating a single source of truth

The acquisition of Radian6 was a high profile move to integrate a key monitoring platform into a core business system. This demonstrates the importance of managing our CRM platforms to create a single source of truth. Marketers have an abundance of tools designed to give valuable insight on their audience. What are they looking at? What are they talking about? But these tools are often disconnected from the core business system making vital information redundant to the rest of the business. Monitoring is critical, so store this real time information centrally and make it available to the rest of the business.

Couldn't agree more Graham (great name by the way). Data and a single customer view are key issues for 2012, but difficult for some campanies to implement with 'silo' mentality. Content is a close second, followed by relevance (back to centralised data again).
