Kara Wilson joins Rubrik as CMO

Cloud data management company Rubrik has appointed Kara Wilson as its first CMO.

Wilson will oversee the firm’s global marketing and build the company’s brand as it expands its cloud data management platform in the US and internationally. Wilson will report directly to Rubrik co-founder and CEO, Bipul Sinha.

“With a massive near-term $50 billion market opportunity and aggressive global expansion plans, Rubrik is strongly positioned for continued growth. I’m excited to join the company during this exciting time and lead its world-class marketing team,” Wilson said.

She was previously CMO at security firm FireEye, where she led the company through its IPO in 2013. Prior to this she was CMO at tech business Okta, and she has also held executive positions at a number of enterprise technology companies, including the CMO role at SAP Cloud, SuccessFactors and Network General, VP of collaboration solutions marketing at Cisco Systems, and VP of marketing communications at PeopleSoft before its acquisition by Oracle. She currently serves on the board of directors of Paychex, Epicor and Jitterbit.
