NEWS: New Facebook feature allows payments through Messenger | B2B Marketing

Facebook

has announced a new feature that will allow friends to send and receive money for free through its Messenger application.

Users can transfer money to each other by opening a private message, selecting the recipient and tapping the dollar icon, before entering the amount they want to send. Once their card details have been filled in the transaction will be completed. Users are also able to add further authentication to enhance security.

Facebook is keen to assure its users that this is a safe way to transfer money. The social network already processes more than a million secure transactions on a daily basis including payments from gamers and advertisers.

The new feature is rolling out in the US over the coming months across Android, iOS and desktop.
