76% of prospects will abandon ‘difficult’ mobile websites

A whopping 76 per cent of prospects will abandon a brand’s website if it is not optimised for mobile browsing, according to new research carried out by Netbiscuits.

The report found over 30 per cent of users simply won’t bother trying to use a brand’s non-optimized site, or turn to a competitor instead.

Meanwhile, search is the single most popular activity on the mobile web, with 90 per cent of respondents spending time on it each day.

Dan Weisbeck, CMO Netbiscuits, said: “The mobile web is one of the biggest disruptive technologies we have ever seen. The phenomenal uptake of its usage, alongside rumoured customer dissatisfaction with the quality of experience has been the main motivation for us to undertake this research.”
