Adobe Systems Incorporated has announced two significant appointments following its acquisition of automation vendor, Neolane. The appointments underscores Adobe’s move into marketing automation, proving it is now a serious player in this arena.
Firstly, the brand has appointed Bijan Bedroud managing director of Northern Europe, responsible for supporting customer growth in the region.
Bijan has joined Adobe from marketing automation leader, Eloqua, where he spent four years as vice president of EMEA. Prior to Eloqua, Bedroud held senior positions at Vignette Corporation, DoubleClick and Compaq Computers, where he had a proven track record of driving customer growth and professional development within his teams.
Bedroud said: “With recent major updates to Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Marketing Cloud, Adobe is an exciting place to be. As the only company in the world that enables the creation, management, measurement and monetisation of digital content with innovation at its core, I’m delighted to be taking the helm of the Northern European business.”
Secondly, John Watton has been appointed head of marketing for Adobe’s Marketing Cloud.
Previously, the B2B leader worked as senior director of marketing at, digital marketing technology provider, Silverpop. He has also held roles at Expedia, SHIPSERV and Microsoft.
Watton commented on the news in a blog post: ‘For a creatively-minded, Pagemaker-trained, marketing scientist with a passion for digital marketing technology, I just couldn’t turn away the opportunity to join the Adobe team. After all, it’s not like I’m joining a brave new world. It’s more like coming home.’
