Adobe, Microsoft and SAP announce the details on Open Data Initiative

The CEOs of Adobe, Microsoft and SAP have revealed new details on the Open Data Initiative that they announced last year.

The aim of the initiative is to eliminate data silos and enable a single view of the customer, helping companies better govern their data and support privacy and security initiatives.

The three companies have released plans to enhance the current process by delivering a new approach for publishing, enriching and ingesting initial data feeds from Adobe Experience Platform into the customer’s data base. This will be activated through Adobe Experience Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Office 365, and SAP C/4HANA. The aim of this is to improve the use of AI.

To speed up the development of the initiative the companies also announced they’d be putting together a Partner Advisory Council. Council members include Accenture, Amadeus, Capgemini, Change Healthcare, Cognizant, EY, Finastra, Genesys, Hootsuite, InMobi, Sprinklr and WPP.

Stephan Pretorius, chief technology officer at WPP (one of the council members), said he saw a lot of opportunity to contribute to the development of the Open Data Intiative. “Our customers are all trying to integrate behavioural, CRM, ERP and other internal data sets to have a comprehensive understanding of each consumer, and they’re struggling with the challenges of integrating this data.”
