Anticipation builds ahead of ‘iPad Mini’ launch

Apple is widely expected to launch a product its former CEO Steve Jobs described as ‘too small.’

Almost everyone in the tech industry is anticipating Apple will unveil a seven inch version of the iPad at an event in San Francisco on Tuesday.

Jobs’ claim, that the smaller tablet size would not be popular with consumers, seems to have been falsified, with Amazon and Google both enjoying success in the seven inch space.

Having seemingly accepted the viability of the smaller sized tablet, Apple now needs to ascertain whether or not the consumer will be willing to pay a premium within the seven inch market.

Of course, in line with its usual marketing strategy, Apple is yet to confirm the existence of the smaller iPad. But few will be surprised to see it among the line of new products announced tomorrow.
