Paper manufacturer Arjowiggins has launched a competition to promote its eight new rich colours in its Pop’Set premium recycled paper brand.
The ‘Colours’ Attack contest’ aims to engage designers and paper users in friendly competition with peers, as well as famous creatives worldwide. Contestants are encouraged to realise their own versions of origami-character C-Myk (pronounced See-mike), created by Japanese graphic artist, Shin Tanaka, who teamed up with Arjowiggins for the occasion.
The competition is accessible online, through a dedicated website and Facebook link. Here participants are able to download paper samples and templates, and upload their own creations.
A jury of design leaders in Paris will select the very best projects to go on display in the Arjowiggins Creative Papers VIP gallery at D&AD’s ‘New Blood’ exhibition, which will be held in London in June 2011. Here, the C-Myk will be sold in support of the UNESCO ‘Award of Excellence for Handicrafts’, which promotes quality crafts that have been manufactured in a socially responsible manner and with respect for the environment.
