Car rental company Europcar Group has changed its name to Europcar Mobility Group to reflect its new brand identity.
The company says it has undertaken an in-depth transformation since 2014 by growing faster at an international level, addressing new car rental use cases, and diversifying its activities. The group has become a global provider of mobility solutions, offering a wide range of services including van and truck rental, chauffeur services, and car sharing.
In the last few years, the group has acquired European car-sharing start-up Ubeeqo; Brunel, a provider of chauffeur services; and Scooty, a scooter-sharing start-up. The group has also taken minority investments in Snappcar, the second-largest international peer-to-peer car-sharing company in Europe, and Wanderio, a multimodel search and comparison platform.
The company has also strengthened its vehicle rental offering by acquiring low-cost car rental leader Goldcar, and German vehicle rental company Buchbinder.
Caroline Parot, CEO of Europcar Mobility Group, said: “We needed a name that brought to life the transformation of the group for our future developments, using the strength of our historical business and number one position in vehicle rental. The name Europcar Mobility Group capitalises on the Europcar brand, while also providing the mobility context for future acquisitions.”
