B2B chemical company sponsors school fitness campaign

Chemical company INEOS has joined forces with ITV to encourage primary school children to run a mile every day.

The campaign, known as ‘The Daily Mile’ has been drawing attention to the benefits of exercising which include fitness, health and concentration levels.

The initiative first-ever commercial has been created to support the campaign which is being aired in between ITV programmes, as well as the running of nationwide events and a call centre for teacher and parents to find out more information.

Elaine Wyllie, founder of The Daily Mile, who features in the TV commercial, commented: “We have already had a lot of success with The Daily Mile, but this campaign will be a major step forward. With ITV’s and INEOS’s help, it’s my hope to get every primary school in the UK joining in The Daily Mile movement.”

The Daily Mile started in 2012 and has so far seen 1845 primary schools across the UK take up the initiative.

Jim Ratcliffe, founder and chairman at INEOS said: “INEOS has been supporting The Daily Mile for the last three years. We know how important it is to encourage children to get fit and healthy and look after themselves, not just today but for the years to come. We are delighted to be working with ITV to help take The Daily Mile to the next level.”
