B2B Marketing has announced it will be expanding its flagship event, Ignite, to Chicago, USA.
The company will be collaborating on the launch with former global BMA conference organiser and current CEO of agency Slack and Company, Gary Slack.
The event will take on a similar structure to the original London-based Ignite, and will include industry speakers and content tracks including engagement, account-based marketing and martech.
Joel Harrison, editor-in-chief at B2B Marketing, said he’d gotten to know Slack extremely well over the past decade. “I have admired his success in growing the BMA conference from 125 marketers when he took it over in 2009 to more than 1000 attendees from 36 states and 12 countries when he turned it over to ANA after the 2015 event,” said Joel.
Gary said he was honoured to have been asked by Joel and co-founder James Farmer to collaborate in organising and hosting Ignite USA.
“With the demise of BtoB magazine four years ago and the shrinkage since 2015 of the now ANA-owned former BMA conference, B2B marketers in the US deserve to once again have an annual ‘big tent’ conference serving their multitude of professional development and networking needs and interests. With the Ignite event brand now dwarfing all other B2B marketing events across the globe, the time is right to bring Ignite to America, B2B marketing’s galactic centre, and Chicago is the ideal location, and late May the ideal time.”
The event will take place on 27 and 28 May 2020 at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel.
