B2B Marketing’s top 5

It’s Friday and the last working day in June so that means it’s time we look back over the top topics in B2B Marketing this month…

1. Content crazy
This week we launched our Content Benchmarking Report and unleashed The State of Content Marketing infographic. Because everyone loves an infographic, right? And after the overwhelming response of our State of Social Media infographic we couldn’t help spoil you with another one.

The week was topped up with a bundle of features, news stories and blog posts reminding marketers to ‘choose wisely from the content counter’.

2. #B2BSummit
If you don’t recognise this hashtag then you must have been living under a rock this month (it’s been tweeted over 2,00 times after all).

Over 400 people were in attendance at B2B Marketing’s second annual B2B Marketing Summit which took place at The Brewery, London.

With select-your-own content streams comprising Social Media, Inbound Marketing, Demand Generation and Multi channel sandwiched by keynotes from TalkTalk and Birddog, delegates left with pages of notes and best practice advice. For those who attended that weren’t paying close enough attention, we have put together a key takeaways document. Plus, all speakers’ presentation slides and pictures from the event are now live on the site.

3. Video
There has been much discussion concerning video-led marketing this month with Vine updates and the launch of Instagram mobile, marketers are now spoiled for choice.

Consequently, B2B Marketing decided to conduct our very own content experiment with Twitter’s six-second video platform. The experiment aimed to discover if the social network is a useful B2B platform. Plus, we shared some best practice tips along the way. Check out our findings and watch our Vine videos here.

4. Social struggles
A whopping 31 per cent of B2B brands admit to struggling with social media. This stat from our Content Marketing Benchmarking Report had tongues wagging this month. The page won the award for most popular news story in the month of June, meanwhile it sparked various debates on Twitter and LinkedIn (the story had over 70 retweets in 24 hours).

5. Getting the green light: Internal buy-in
Internal buy-in ends this month’s top five. Gaining internal buy-in remains one of B2B marketer’s greatest challenges. In this month’s magazine we investigated the need for support from internal stakeholders and crucially, how to get it. Plus we offer some great top tips for internal buy in.

Let us know your ‘top five’ this month in the comments.
