Barclays has released a corporate version of its payment app, Barclays Pingit.
The corporate collections’ functionality allows customers to pay bills using their mobile phone as opposed to cash, cheque or bank transfer. Anyone with a UK current account and a UK mobile number can use the service without sending bank details.
Businesses can register for a corporate ID and/or QR code that is linked to a corporate account held with Barclays. Customers can then either enter the corporate ID code into their phone or scan the QR card to make a payment.
The bank has created a microsite detailing the corporate service and will hold several client events to launch the business offering.
John Kelting, head of product, Barclays Corporate Banking said, “Customers increasingly want accessibility and ease when it comes to managing their money and Barclays Pingit provides just that. It gives customers a clean, straightforward and safe way to pay their bills by simply using their mobile phone.
“With the payments landscape rapidly evolving and expectation of immediacy of payment amongst customers growing, the need for businesses to look for new and innovate ways to meet customer demand and streamline payment processes will become increasingly important.”
