Brandwatch names Will McInnes global CMO

Independent social media monitoring and analytics provider, Brandwatch, has appointed Will McInnes as the company’s first global chief marketing officer.

Based in New York, McInnes’ responsibilities are to develop a marketing organisation and brand in order to support the company through continued ambitious sales growth around the world.

Previously, the marketer had been a partner and customer of Brandwatch in his role as managing director at social consultancy NixonMcInnes. In this role McInnes consulted global brands such as BBC, Cisco, Barclays and World Wildlife Fund on social and digital transformation programmes.

In 2012 McInnes’ book ‘Culture Shock – a handbook for 21st century business’ was published by Wiley. He is also curator for Meaning conference, an annual gathering for people who believe in better business.

Giles Palmer, CEO of Brandwatch, says: “Will is one of the smartest and most inspiring people working in social media today. I have been a fan of his for some time and having him join us and take the CMO seat is a big coup for Brandwatch.”
