Matt Preschern, the ANA marketer of the year in 2017, has been appointed SVP of global demand and performance marketing at systems software provider CA Technologies.
He was previously CMO at HCL Technologies and will begin his new role on 1 March, where he’ll be responsible for development of the tech business’ global, regional and partner marketing programmes covering agile, security and dev ops solutions from mobile to mainframes.
Lauren Flaherty, CMO at CA Technologies, who Matt will report to, said: “At CA, we’re putting a greater emphasis on the commercial impact of our marketing programmes, and Matt’s expertise and background is well suited to where we are headed. His experience in driving digital models at companies with scale is a great fit for CA. We are thrilled to have him on our team.”
Before joining HCL, Matt served as CMO at Windstream Communications and VP marketing for IBM’s North American consulting services.
Speaking to B2B Marketing in 2016, Preschern explained marketing needed to take the lead in making the brand customer-centric.
“It takes marketers to help the company discover which touchpoints are most important, and then work with different functions to improve it. There could be one-hundred touchpoints, so choose the top three most important and work your way down to discover the underlying root problems,” he said.
