‘Pressure on client budgets’ remains the biggest challenge facing B2B agencies, according to B2B Marketing’s newly published 2014 B2B Agencies Report.
Thirty-three per cent of the agencies surveyed said this was the single biggest challenge they face at present. However, this is a 12 per cent drop since 2013 when 45 per cent of agencies selected pressure on client budgets as their biggest challenge.
‘Attracting/retaining quality staff’ was next on the list, selected by 23 per cent of agencies, followed by ‘measuring campaign effectiveness’ (12 per cent) and ‘poorly organised/time wasting pitches’ (10 per cent).
Meanwhile, no agencies had problems ‘embracing digital’ and only four per cent had issues with ‘procurement departments’.
A lucky one per cent admitted they faced no challenges at all.
Alex Aspinall, head of content at B2B Marketing, commented on the findings: “”It’s little surprise to see that agencies are still quoting client budgets as a challenge. This is unlikely to ever change but it’s interesting to note the 12 per cent decrease in agencies referencing this as their main challenge.
