Content marketing skills boost

Forty-two per cent of B2B marketers consider themselves effective at content marketing, up from 36 per cent last year, according to a new infographic by LinkedIn, Marketing Profs and The Content Marketing Institute.

Some 73 per cent of marketers surveyed said they are creating more content than they did last year, and 58 per cent plan to increase their content marketing budgets over the next year.

The research also reveals that 87 per cent of B2B marketers use social media platforms  in their content marketing, while only 35 per cent use print magazine and 28 per cent mobile apps.

At the same time, the popularity of infographics continues to grow. Fifty-one per cent of B2B marketers have used the medium this year, compared to 38 per cent last year.

Meanwhile, LinkedIn remains the favourite B2B social media platform for content distribution. Twitter second and Facebook third.

The infographic also highlights the top goals for content production. The B2B marketers surveyed revealed their top goal was brand awareness (82 per cent), followed by lead generation (74 per cent) and customer acquisition (71 per cent).
