B2B digital media and marketing agency DWA has been acquired by Dentsu Aegis Network to expand its current B2B offering.
The agency will now be known as DWA, a Merkle company, having been brought under the Merkle brand which was acquired by Dentsu in 2016. DWA joins B2B agencies gyro and BAND, which were acquired by Dentsu in 2016 and 2015.
Dentsu hopes the acquisition will scale its existing capabilities to present B2B clients with greater integrated technology, data and creativity. DWA provides expertise in adtech, management decision support and real-time insight, and its customer base includes brands such as Saleforce, Oracle and Cisco. The agency was also ranked eighth in the top 40 global marcomms agencies in the B2B Agencies Benchmarking Report 2016-17.
David Williams, president and CEO at Merkle, said: “There’s a growing group of enterprise level, B2B and technology businesses, all moving at breakneck pace to adopt the best advertising solutions and platforms. DWA’s client list reflects a clear early-mover advantage. The shift toward people-based marketing is as relevant in B2B as it is elsewhere. This acquisition will strengthen our ability to deliver those capabilities for B2B clients at scale.”
DWA was established in 1996 and is headquartered in San Francisco with eight offices worldwide.
