B2B Marketing - Meet the team
Joel Harrison – Editor-in-chief
As editor-in-chief of B2B Marketing, and one of its founders, Joel plays a strategic role in the company, focusing on the development of all B2B Marketing's content, products and services – including events, training, reports and the magazine. He's also an ambassador and evangelist for B2B more generally, and a regular speaker at conferences and at inhouse marketing team meetings. When he’s not banging the drum for B2B, he’s interested in cycling, architecture, history and Bristol City FC. You can find him tweeting here.
James Farmer – Publisher and founder
Cats, dogs, mice, James has seen it all! Never more engaged with the world than when prefixed with B2B. James has been both road warrior and tree hugger for the quadrillion-dollar worldwide B2B business community; ever since he was born as an acorn on a mountain top. With many anecdotes about why B2B is the ‘West’s’ best export' and why marketing Carlsberg, in the B2C world, would (probably) be worse than death, James is considered a moderate. Handy with a calculator, poor at splleing – James has modelled himself on Sean Bean’s infamous Richard Sharpe, all the way down to faking a Sheffield accent during high-powered meetings. He tweets here.
Claire Edmunds – Head of events
As B2B Marketing's head of events, Claire manages the entire events team and oversees the production and delivery of the company's annual event programme, including its flagship event Ignite, and the world-famous B2B Marketing Awards ceremony. When she isn’t whipping the team into shape, she enjoys travelling, board sports, the gym, country music (the modern kind), eating out and drinking wine... lots of it! She also hates being told she's from Essex and that she's short – although the latter is actually true.
Cliff Guy – Head of marketing
Cliff is B2B’s head of marketing, and the guy with the loudest laugh in the office. But if you’re ever in our offices, don’t be fooled by the cackle! Described by dotmailer founder Tink Taylor as a ‘marketing powerhouse’, Cliff brings heavyweight experience to the B2B Marketing team, with over 30 years' experience in the marketing game. A Londoner through and through, Cliff is a sucker for London pubs, the banks of the Thames and keeping the Night Tube in demand. A gym addict, he's sometimes accused of ostentatiously flexing while presenting in meetings, and otherwise happens to be the best man to have on your team in an 80s pub quiz.
Mary-Anne Baldwin – Head of content
Mary-Anne leads the team of content writers at B2B Marketing, which collectively ensures you get your regular dose of insightful and inspiring content on all things B2B marketing. Within her role she oversees the production of B2B Marketing's print magazine, premium reports, downloadable guides, social media and all online content. Outside of work, she likes dedicating time to her two favourite interests, cheese and wine. Not so enjoyable are her failing attempts to counteract them with kickboxing. Say ‘hi’ to her on Twitter here.
Sarah Casswell – Head of enterprise sales
As B2B Marketing’s senior enterprise account manager, Sarah looks after the company's corporate clients. She strives to help all B2B marketers succeed together through shared experiences, insights and ideas so that everyone can achieve their goals as a business, a department, a leader or someone just starting their journey as in B2B. Outside of B2B Marketing, Sarah occasionally moonlights as a country singer, frequently attends weddings, and goes to see as many shows, gigs, and plays as possible.
Barry Peake – Finance director
As finance director, Barry oversees the day-to-day running of the company’s accounts department alongside assisting company growth and strategic direction. Outside B2B Marketing, Barry’s currently studying for his level one FA coaching badge to help the development of his son’s football team.
Paul Snell – Deputy editor
Paul looks after B2B Marketing’s free downloads and partner content, as well as pitching in with much of the rest of the company's editorial output. Before joining B2B Marketing, he spent a decade writing about people in procurement, who were always trying to avoid the advances of pesky marketers! Outside work, Paul loves video gaming, tweeting about the ancient Romans and indulging a weakness for new pairs of cufflinks. Follow him on Twitter @procurementpaul.
Alex Clarke – Digital content manager
As digital content lead, Alex oversees the company's extensive online content output, manages its thriving social media portfolio, and writes about all things B2B for the company's website and much-loved quarterly magazine. When he's not celebrating the pioneers of B2B marketing, Alex is bemoaning the depressing state of his beloved football club Nottingham Forest, climbing up walls in South London, or planning his next trip out of the Big Smoke. Find him on Twitter here.
Scott Pringle – Events manager
Scott… is from Scotland. As events manager, Scott plays a key role in managing all B2B Marketing events and B2B Awards programmes throughout the year, while still finding time to eat haggis and cycle without a helmet. When he’s not multi-tasking, he’s cooking up a storm in the kitchen. But he’s yet to win the B2B Bake Off… in fact, has anyone? Find him tweeting here.
Rebecca Ley – Content writer
Rebecca looks after B2B Marketing’s range of client reports, as well as helping out with all things editorial. When not writing at work, she enjoys writing at home, especially post-apocalyptic novels full of plot holes. She is currently on the lookout for B2B’s office dogs, or any dog for that matter. Follow her on Twitter here.
Jason Taylor – Events campaign marketing manager
Having spent several years as a twirly, hoofing it on the international stage, Jason decided to ditch the dance shoes with his shins still intact and enter the dizzying world of marketing. After a brief stint in Canary Wharf he joined the cool kids in Farringdon as B2B Marketing's events campaign manager, where he works on all of the wonderful and diverse events the company offers, as well as its professional development and training offering. Jason is constantly teased for his love of his newly-laid lawn and obsession with his beloved greyhound Nina.
Nicola Stephens – Designer
Nicola works on all things design. Her responsibilities span the company’s diverse range of output, from its quarterly print magazine to its events portfolio, and its various Premium, free download and partnered reports, to social media and website assets. When not pushing her creative limits in the office, you’ll usually find Nicola sipping on a variety of fruity teas, shopping for bargain wardrobe additions, or cooking… (always cooking, baking or eating). She’s also recently rediscovered her love of tap dancing and dreams of one day permanently transforming into the red dancer emoji.
Adam Harper - Relationship marketing manager
Adam manages the communication and marketing of the company’s most valued customers and prospects within the business, using these customer relationships to develop products, improve customer experiences and collect insight to inform B2B Marketing’s events and content programmes. Adam is interested in game theory, and is convinced it’s the next major change to B2B marketing. He loves sport – particularly football, cricket and golf – and has a sarcastic comment for every occasion (except this one).
Kathryn Ramsay – Enterprise account manager
Kathryn is an enterprise account manager, and is passionate about the professional development needs of the company’s key clients through its events, training workshops and industry-focused content. She’s always keen to connect like-minded B2B marketers, and is, therefore, a huge advocate of the multiple networking opportunities available in the B2B space. Outside of work, Kathryn is happiest when surrounded by friends at any one of London's glorious pubs, restaurants or events.
Amanda Gilbert – Enterprise account manager
As enterprise account manager at B2B Marketing, Amanda works with client-side marketing professionals and teams across a huge variety of B2B brands, from all sectors, across all different shapes, sizes and structures. She helps them connect with each other, share experiences, ideas and insights, be inspired and learn, providing them with all the tools necessary so they can achieve their objectives. When not helping and empowering marketers to reach their full potential, she can usually be found at a gig, music festival, planning her next visit to a street food pop-up or an escape out of London for a mini adventure.
Alex Burton – Enterprise account manager
Having developed a passion for working with marketers over the past couple of years, Alex is now an account manager offering training opportunities and events, the latest industry news and best practice advice online, it’s his goal to ensure he provides marketers of all levels of seniority with the resources they need to succeed in a constantly evolving industry. Outside work, Alex is a sports enthusiast. He loves going to the gym and playing football, golf and tennis. At weekends, he’ll most likely be found following his beloved football team West Ham up and down the country, watching films on the big screen, or socialising with friends over a cold beer.
Kiran Ranu – Client solutions manager
Kiran works within B2B Marketing’s sales team as a client solutions manager. She loves building genuine customer relationships to provide the most tangible resources for her clients, and is passionate about connecting with the most forward-thinking B2B marketers from around the world. Aside from this, in her spare time you’ll find her enjoying life with her friends exploring London and socialising over a few drinks.
Shevaun Davis – Media sales executive
Shevaun is an event sales executive within B2B Marketing’s intrepid inside sales team, aimed at connecting B2B marketers with the company’s awesome content and events offering. As a marketing graduate, Shevaun is passionate about helping B2B professionals to stay up to date with marketing trends and further their careers. She's perhaps happiest when on the water – rowing and sailing – or relaxing on beach holidays.
Jake Daou – Inside sales executive
At only 20 years old, Jake is the youngest person at B2B (not including Wilson the dog), selling event tickets and memberships to B2B marketers across the world. He enjoys connecting with B2B marketers and helping individuals accelerate their professional careers. Jake spends his spare time playing football, cycling and organising catering events. One of his biggest hobbies is woodwork, which he has enjoyed from a young age.
Molly Raycraft – Junior writer
Fresh out of a Journalism degree at Sussex University, Molly is a spring chicken to the world of B2B. But don’t let that fool you, she’s written for a few publications and even marketed knickers! Molly likes her home comforts; this is why she’s usually sighted in the B2B office wrapped in a nest of blankets. Aside from reporting great marketing news, her greatest ambition at the company is to build a menagerie of desk toys. She looks forward to attending upcoming marketing events where she hopes to expand this collection. @molly_b2b
Richard Buxton – Events assistant
After joining B2B Marketing as an events assistant, Richard made an immediate impact on an operational level... by vitally securing an epic after-party venue for the B2B Marketing Awards. With a passion for events, he’s worked on live music festivals and large consumer exhibitions. B2B Marketing drew Richard away from the French Alps where he lived for a few years in Meribel: during which time he only really learned how to order a beer in the local language. Outside of work, Richard enjoys boxing, occasionally stepping into the ring to raise money for charity.
Minesh Mistry – Media marketing executive
Sitting in the media marketing department, Minesh plays a key role in client lead generation, overseeing the production of B2B’s weekly partner download bulletin, as well as providing our clients with the leads they’re after. Outside of work, you’ll either find him at The Emirates shouting his head off, or on the badminton court on a weekly basis. That is until the weather turns good and he’ll be exploring the best high-rise bars London has to offer or running a 10km marathon – something that’s become a yearly goal for him.
