A decade of content: What's changed?

This year's Content Benchmarking Report reveals marketers are drowning in content. Jessica McGreal looks back on the last decade to find out what's changed and where the industry is heading

1. Higher priority: content has become the number one task on marketers to do lists, and this is unlikely to change soon.

2. More channels: in 2004 we were living in a world without smartphones and the majority of social networks – including Twitter and LinkedIn – these channels unlocked new ways to start two-way conversations with customers.
