APPOINTMENT NEWS: Safestore invest in B2B market

Safestore has created two new marketing roles, David Cox appointed as head of sales and marketing and Caroline Akata-Pore as B2B marketing manager.

The self storage company sees the business market as a key growth area saying business customers represent 56 per cent of its turnover.

Akata-Pore, who previously worked in marketing positions for Westminster Council, HP and Taylor Woodrow, will be implementing direct marketing, PR, social media and eCRM activity.

Akata-Pore said, “Businesses are becoming increasingly focused on improving the
efficiency of the way they use space and this creates new drivers for self-storage. This
is therefore a key growth area for Safestore and I will be working closely with my
colleagues throughout the business to strengthen the relevance of the brand to business
customers. In particular there is an exciting pipeline of new business in national sales
forces and partnerships.”

Safestore will use its national presence to increase potential business by 100 per cent, from £360 million to £720 million over the next five years
