BRANDING NEWS: BluQube goes solo in sponsorship deal

BluQube branded sailing boatThe core product from B2B financial software company, Symmetry, will be the headline sponsor for the Solo 1000 sailing race this summer. The integrated accounting product - branded as BluQube - is an accounting platform that claims to improve the accuracy and efficiency of finance systems. BluQube is designed for companies that have between £3 million turnover to £250 million turnover, and it can be used by up to 800 people at a time.

Simon Kearsley, managing director of BluQube, says, "Sailing is a perfect fit for us as a company and reflects many of our own brand values such as ‘openness', ‘being different' and ‘thinking outside of the box'. It is also an extremely popular pastime amongst our target audience that comprises senior management and finance professionals. It is something that we can use to make accounting software more appealing and helps to raise our profile in what is an extremely competitive marketplace. Sponsoring an event such as the Solo 1000 provides a great communications platform for both our customers and staff."

The Solo 1000 race will determine who qualifies for the Ostar transatlantic race next year and has been dubbed as "the highlight of the Racing at Petit Bateau programme for 2008," by Paul Peggs, race director of event organiser Petit Bateau.

The sponsorship deal will entitle BluQube to full branding on event collateral and publicity in any releases about the race. The Solo 1000 race will take place between 29 June and 12 July, covering 1000 miles of offshore sailing between the UK, Ireland, Spain and France.
