DATA NEWS: Lloyd to front US data invader

Richard LloydRichard Lloyd, former head of B2B at Experian and latterly MD of start-up data boutique Cyance, has re-emerged to front Info USA's new UK data business.

Lloyd takes up the role of general manager, responsible for spearheading the launch of the Info UK's business database, which will be targeted primarily at list brokers, agencies and SMEs, and will include over three million contacts. Info USA already has a presence in the UK via business information system One Source, which it owns.

Lloyd's appointment is something of a coup for Info USA, as he well known and highly respected across the B2B data sector. He started his career at Dun & Bradstreet after which he moved to Experian where he created the market-leading B2B data operation. Lloyd left Experian in early 2007 to front Cyance, which is co-owned by Mike Housley and Shane Redding, who described his departure as amicable.

Vin Gupta, CEO of Info USA, comments, "Richard has exactly the right expertise and commercial acumen to ensure Info UK becomes a major player in the business list market."

Info UK's services will officially launch later this year, although as yet no timescale has been specified. Meanwhile, Mike Housley will take over from Lloyd at Cyance, which is understood to be preparing for the launch of its own data ‘multi-verse' (blended data file) later this spring.
