EVENT MARKETING NEWS: Doug Richard launches SME training programme
Doug Richard, the founding dragon from BBC’s Dragon’s Den, has joined forces with Yell and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills to run a set of training programmes for SMEs.
The Web Fuelled Business programme is a selection of 16 bootcamps being run throughout the country - ending on 28 March in London - promoting British businesses to make the most of the internet.
Workshops will cover selling online, marketing through social media and SEO. Speaking about the programme, Richard said, “2012 is set to be one of the toughest economic environments in recent history – and my goal is to persuade small businesses that their country really needs them, as our economy depends on the survival and prosperity of our small businesses.”
Helping SMEs grow is a subject Richard clearly feels passionate about as he founded the School for Startups and last August he joined forces with Make It Cheaper to create a ‘business gym’ advice site for SMEs.
