NEWS: 67% of marketers contemplating quitting jobs

Two-thirds of marketers could be leaving their jobs within the next six months, according to B2B Marketing’s Leaders Report 2015.

Twenty-eight per cent of respondents admitted they were actively searching for new employment opportunities, while 39 per cent said they were 'likely' to start looking for a job in the next six months.

The report states that although the figures may initially raise concerns among employers, staff upheaval can often inspire 'internal improvement and departmental up-skilling.'

The research indicates that disenchanted employees may well explain the startling figures, with 49 per cent of marketing team members admitting they do not feel valued by their company.

From a leader’s perspective, the findings highlight the importance of not just understanding what your team is looking for, but also ensuring they feel respected, valued and well-trained.

Alex Aspinall, head of content at B2B Marketing, commented: “The percentages involved here may sound alarming but it is - of course - perfectly natural for people to keep an eye on the opportunities that exist for them.

"The challenge for marketing leaders is to make sure they are providing the levels of stimulation, responsibility and progression that will mean the top talent doesn't feel like they would be better off elsewhere."
