NEWS: IBM transforming tennis coverage at US Open | B2B Marketing

IBM

is continuing to transform digital coverage of tennis with its 2015 US Open campaign.

Following its

sponsorship

of Wimbledon this summer, the global tech giant has moved its focus across the Atlantic to partner with the United States Tennis Association (USTA).

IBM is refining fan experience through its enhanced analytics, data collection and social technologies.

For the first time, record-breaking player achievements and milestones will be streamed directly to the USTA in real-time, granting instant broadcast to the supporter community.

In addition, IBM’s mobile apps have been refreshed, the US Open tournament website redesigned and the Slamtracker app enhanced to provide deeper analysis of player position and ball movement.

Slamtracker also now enjoys a social share feature that allows fans to instantly share match analysis via Facebook.

Nicole Jeter West, senior director of ticketing and digital strategy at USTA, commented: “Year after year, IBM’s technological expertise creates an incomparable mobile and digital experience for US Open tennis fans.

“We’re excited to partner with IBM again to push the boundaries of fan engagement and entertainment to bring the US Open to life and promote the game of tennis to fans across the globe.”
