LinkedIn launches new native video feature on mobile app | B2B Marketing

LinkedIn has announced a new feature that will allow users to upload native video directly to the professional social network via mobile.

Users will now be able to upload or record video directly from the social platform’s mobile app, as LinkedIn seeks to keep pace with rival social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, which already allow members to upload native video.

Through audience insights, LinkedIn members will also be able to measure the success of their videos through metrics such as top companies, titles and locations of their viewers, as well as how many likes, shares, comments, views and re-shares their videos are receiving.

In a

blog post

, LinkedIn announced the feature will be rolled out today and will be available to all of its

23 million UK members

.

This is not the only lead generation tool for marketers exploiting LinkedIn on mobile, with its release of

Lead Gen Forms

earlier this year: a feature that automatically populates an in-app form with a user’s profile information when they click an ad in a Sponsored Content post.

More recently, LinkedIn announced the release of its new ‘Audience Network’ feature, which

allows marketers to place sponsored ad content on third-party websites

including MSN.com and Outlook.com.

Tom Pepper, UK head of LinkedIn Marketing Solutions, commented: “LinkedIn is the world’s largest online professional community and every day millions of professionals, influencers and marketers use the platform to keep up to date with industry news and share their views and opinions.

“With the native video feature, members can go beyond written content, recording and publishing their own videos to further engage their networks.”
