NEWS: Twitter tests new homepage for non-account holders

Twitter has begun testing a new homepage to entice more visitors to log in to the social network.

Previously, the homepage showed a photo from one of its 284 million users. The new design displays various categories, including 'news', 'sport' and 'music'. Viewers can select a category to see 'the best Tweets, photos and moments that people are sharing'.

The company hopes this will make some of the 125 million people who visit the site each month, and don't log in, sign up. 

This follows multiple new feature releases in a short period of time such as group chat, video editing and an instant timeline for new users.
