News: US Agencies Benchmarking Report 2020 out now

Our annual US Agencies Benchmarking Report 2020 is out now, and reveals that there have been some big changes in the agency landscape.

After holding top spot in our ‘top US B2B marcomms agencies’ table for the past few years, gyro has fallen to third place, while Bader Rutter has assumed the throne after a one-year hiatus from our rankings. Yesler, meanwhile has managed to hold on to second place.

Merkle DWA managed to rise to fourth position in this year’s rankings. Dentsu Aegis Network acquired DWA in 2017 in order to expand Merkle’s B2B offering, so it’s certainly interesting to see this agency continue its rise.

Fahlgren Mortine also has reason to celebrate, as it has finished fifth place in its inaugural involvement in the table.

Fastest growers

Moving on to our ‘top 15 fastest growing US B2B marcomms agencies’ table, we see that Merkle DWA has yet more to be proud of, as it came in at number one. The agency reported an 8.2$m YoY increase in gross income. This works out as a 27.52% YoY increase in gross income. Despite being the fastest grower in our last US report, Yesler fell to fifth place this time around. Still, being one of the top five fastest growing agencies is nothing to be ashamed of.

Features and commentaries

In addition to the league tables, the report includes in-depth features, which look at the state of the agency marketplace, as well as the trends seen by agencies in 2019.

The 2020 report also includes our renowned trend tracker. For this section, marketers were asked to rate several areas of marketing (marketing automation, data privacy, customer experience, etc), based on how focused their team was on each – from 1 (0% focused) to 10 (100% focused). This visual tool shows the average scores for each given area, both from a client-side and agency-side perspective.

Finally, the report includes a number of agency commentaries and agency profiles. Under the commentaries section, agencies were given the chance to share some of their invaluable experience and insight into the B2B marketing world. Under the agency profiles section, agencies were able to provide some further information about who they are, and what they can do for their clients.
