NEWS: YouTube launches ‘Greatest ad poll’ for 10 year anniversary

YouTube is asking users to vote for their favourite ad from the last 10 years, in celebration of its 10th birthday this month.

This follows a great year for ads on the platform: in 2014 four of the most watched videos on the network were ads.

People can select their top video from a list of the 20 most watched ads. The list includes an array of famous B2C ads, but worryingly Volvo Truck’s ‘The epic split’ is the only B2B video featured.

Additionaly, YouTube has been celebrating its birthday throughout the month by sharing highlights from the last decade called 'From A-Z: A letter a day throughout May'. 

YouTube said in a blog post: “10 years have now passed, and that site has grown to become not just the biggest video platform on the web but one of the largest and most diverse collections of self-expression in history.

"So in honour of our 10th birthday, we’re celebrating you, our YouTube community. Every day over the next 26 days, we’ll take a look back at some of the most memorable moments, from the silly to the profound, that you’ve shared on YouTube in the last 10 years. It’s YouTube from A to Z. Literally."
