The number of small and medium businesses (SMBs) using social media as part of their marketing strategies is on the rise, according to research conducted by SocialMediopolis.com.
Michael Crosson, publisher of the website, says LinkedIn is leading this increase in popularity, with the greatest number of respondents stating to need it the most for the business.
“We have seen a significant increase in companies from one to 100 joining the Social Media Marketing group over the previous year,” he said.
Crosson adds that most people think of major consumer marketers as driving the growth of social media venues such as Facebook, Twitter and other platforms, but the reality is that many more small and medium size businesses are now successfully driving social media marketing programs.
