Ernst & Young top social media table

Professional services company Ernst & Young has been named the top social media user in the accountancy sector.

Flagship Consulting identified Ernst & Young, TaxAssist Accountants and PwC as the profession’s most effective users of social media.

The professional services communications agency used its own algorithm to evaluate performances via tools such as Klout, Peer Index and Marketing Grader. It also used human analysis on the top 10 organisations.

Ernst & Young was rated first due to the high levels of quality content posted on Twitter and Facebook.

The top 60 firms, based on fee income, were evaluated by the agency. Speaking about the results, Lewis Shields, head of digital and social media at Flagship Consulting said, “There is no doubt that using an informal approach and responding to everyday issues works very well.  Using consumer techniques and a personality driven approach makes organisations much more relevant to their online audiences and will generate a greater return.”
