Experian is looking to take a sizeable chunk of the B2B email data market by licensing Thomson Directories’ 350,000-strong list of business email addresses.
The new email data pool is the largest business email database in the UK, according to Thomson, and is now available as part of Experian’s National Business Database (NBD). Experian says this will enable clients to perform truly integrated multi-channel direct marketing campaigns (using email, DM and telephone) from a single source.
Richard Lloyd, director of B2B marketing at Experian, comments, âThe B2B marketing industry has until now lacked a comprehensive and integrated email marketing lead generation service. B2B marketers have relied heavily on postal and telephone direct marketing without being able to realise the full benefits of carefully targeted email campaigns.â
He continues, âby combining Thomson’s email database with our National Business Database we can offer our clients the most sophisticated service in the UK enabling them to execute email as well as multi-channel marketing campaigns with the same degree of segmentation and profiling as traditional B2B direct marketing channels. The new service will enable B2B marketers to benefit from leading-edge email deployment tools, whilst importantly demonstrating best practice in the field of data compliance.â
Mary Whatley, business information manager for Thomson Directories, adds: âExperian customers can fully maximise the potential of their email marketing campaigns, in the knowledge that the data they are using complies with today’s best practice and legal requirements.â
