Facebook launches Global Pages

Facebook has unveiled new ‘Global Pages’ functionality, which allows brands to serve users pages optimised according to the country from which they are viewing the page.

Variables including cover photos, news stories and other on-page content will display according to locality, ensuring brands deliver the most appropriate experience to everyone interacting with them.

Kelly Winters, product marketing manager at Facebook, explained via a blog that the social network is eager to further its work allowing brands to serve location-aware content in the future.

She said, “In addition to providing better localised experiences for your customers, we want to make it easier for you to measure your audience in each country as well as benchmark your brand against other brands you care about.

“Later this year we will include the country-level fan counts for all Pages publicly in our API.”
