Facebook has rolled out new functionality allowing users to communicate privately with brands and organisations.
Though the new messages for Pages feature has only been reported by businesses in Asia, it is likely the functionality will not remain Asia-only for long.
It seems only individuals can decide to begin interactions, but brands are free to respond as many times as they like after initial contact is made.
Reports across the web this afternoon suggest that each brand will be able to decide whether or not to accept private messages.
But in our always-on world of social media listening and interaction, it would take a brave brand to ignore the functionality without serious thought.
Expect further updates in the near future.
