Facebook piloting a network for professionals

Facebook is extending its network to reach out to professionals, according to the Financial Times

Anonymous sources told the newspaper that ‘Facebook at Work’ was in its pilot stages, with the social network’s employees currently using the site at work. 

This new social channel would be an enterprise-focused product that would contain similar functions to the current site, but also include tools such as being able to work on shared documents (similar to Google Drive). 

These new professional accounts will be completely separate to the user’s personal Facebook account.
