Facebook redesigns Pages

Facebook has announced it is rolling out a new ‘streamlined’ design for business Pages on desktop, with the aim of making it easier for users to find information.

The ‘streamlined’ update includes three key elements. Firstly, the social media site has updated the timeline design. To make Pages more consistent the right-hand side column will display all Page posts. The left side will now display timeline features, these include information about the business, a map, hours of business and contact details.

Secondly, Facebook has made it easier for users to access administration tools. Administrators will now be able to view information regarding paid for ads, new likes on the Page, notifications and messages. Plus, the new ‘This Week’ section will outline this information in more detail. Meanwhile, the social channel has added new navigation options at the top of the Page to make it easier for businesses to access activity, insights and settings via ‘The Build Audience’ menu.

Finally, the brand has launched a new ‘Pages to Watch’ tool for all admins. This allows Page administrators to create a list of pages similar to their own and compare performance of their page against competitors.
