Facebook serves up ice-cream treats for summer campaign

Facebook has launched a campaign designed to encourage agencies to use its social platform for mobile advertising as it says traditional media consumption dips over the summer.

Activity for ‘#FBSummer’ included the social site sending teaser postcards – one per week for three weeks – to 1000 agency and client contacts across EMEA. This was followed up with an ice-cream van tour of 22 agencies in London, as well as agencies in France, Poland and Germany.

Agency employees were treated to free ice-cream as well as a booklet containing the campaign information.

In an effort to ensure its marketing and sales teams worked effectively together, prior to the activity, the social media giant created sales tools including an overview presentation and new case studies.

The campaign will continue over the summer in the form of Facebook advertising.
