Fewer B2B brands make LinkedIn’s list of top UK companies to work for in 2017

The number of top B2B employers in the UK in 2017 has dropped to 12, compared with 14 in 2016.

These are among the findings of LinkedIn’s latest round-up of its top 20 companies to work for in 2017, with John Lewis named as the UK’s most sought-after employer for the second year running.

Technology giants Alphabet (Google) and Facebook made the top 20 list again, but while Facebook climbed up eight places to reach eighth place this year, Alphabet slipped down to tenth place, four down from the previous year.

Other B2B brands to make the top 20 include PwC UK, Sky, Lloyds and Amazon, who ranked eleventh, twelfth, eighteenth and nineteenth, respectively.

LinkedIn analysed billions of actions of its 23 million UK members to identify the top companies professionals in the UK most want to work for.

Henry Clifford-Jones, director of LinkedIn Marketing Solutions, said: “The concept of a ‘talent brand’ is increasingly preoccupying the agendas of today’s CMOs. As competition for top talent gets increasingly fierce, leading businesses are investing similar amounts of focus and creativity to stand out to employees as they do to promoting their brand, product or service to buyers.”
