Apple subsidiary FileMaker has rebranded as Claris International following its acquisition of data integration company Stamplay.
The name Claris has been chosen for the workplace innovation platform as it derives from the latin word ‘clarus’ which means clear, bright and shining.
Brad Freitag, CEO at Claris, said: “Nothing better encapsulates the company’s mission: to empower the problem-solver with smart solutions that work for their business.”
Claris is actually the company’s previous name when it was set up in 1986 until it was rebranded as FileMaker in 1998.
Customers of Claris will now also be able to access Stamplay’s cloud service which has been integrated into Claris’ offerings and named Claris Connect. Customers can use the software to automate workflows across cloud-based services.
The CEO of Stamplay, Giuliano Lacobelli will now lead the Claris Connect team.
Freitag, who has set the strategy for Claris to multiply its customer base over the next three years, added: “By extending the platform as a modern combination of customer apps and third-party cloud services, customer can now solve problems faster and build applications that have no limits on their capabilities.”
