Five B2B pros inducted into ANA hall of fame

The US Association of National Advertisers (ANA) has added a further five names to its B2B marketing hall of fame.

The inductees – two CMOs and three agency veterans – have been recognised for making a significant and lasting contribution to the industry, while acting as advocates and demonstrating a spirit of innovation and professionalism.

The five new inductees were Phil Clement, global CMO at Aon; John Favalo, executive VP, group B2B at Eric Mower + Associates; Al Maag, CMO at Veterans Ticket Foundation; Tom Stein, chairman and chief client officer at Stein IAS, and; Sherri Leopard, senior adviser and entrepreneur in residence at SYPartners.

Favalo said: “I feel so very lucky and honoured even to be considered, let alone selected. Many thanks to my family, my colleagues and my clients.”

Stein added: “I am thrilled and honoured to be among the group of inductees. It is a milestone achievement for me.”

Hall of fame nominees need at least 15 years’ experience in B2B marketing, and demonstrate unquestioned excellence and talent in B2B. They join Slack and Co. chief experience officer Gary Slack who was the first inductee into the hall of fame last year.

In the ANA’s B2 business marketing annual awards Medidata was named corporate marketer of the year, and 1010data took home the prize as small corporate marketer of the year (under $1 billion). In the agency awards, George P. Johnson Experience Marketing was named large agency of the year, and Stein IAS was named small agency of the year (under $25 million).

Stein also won the best in show prize for its ‘Cats are Everywhere’ campaign for Merck Animal Health. Matt Preschern, CMO at HCL Technologies, was named marketer of the year.
