The Financial Times is celebrating its 125th birthday today. Celebrations include a series of commemorative global events, a marketing campaign and an anniversary feature in print and online.
Kick-starting the celebrations was a hot air balloon bearing the institution’s name and number of years in operation, which was fired up in front of Tower Bridge at 6.15 am this morning.
The celebrations will continue with FT 125 and FT tablet app shaped hot air balloons flying over global financial hubs over the course of the year.
London’s FT headquarters have been lit up pink, with the Empire State Building in New York to follow suit on 1st May to commemorate the occasion.
The FT has also launched a global marketing campaign featuring an image of a rolled up Financial Times newspaper, with the tagline ‘Still guiding the way for global business’. adam&eveDDB were responsible for the campaign.
