Bill Gates has placed his support behind Microsoft’s Bing search engine, claiming it is superior to Google’s product.
The Microsoft founder made the assertion during an ‘Ask me anything’ (AMA) open session on Reddit when responding to a question from user Fozzy420, who said, ‘Do you guys really use Bing? I mean seriously….’
Gates said, ‘Seriously Bing is the better product at this point. Try the challenge. I am biased but the work to make Bing better has been amazing.’
He referred to the ‘Bing it on’ challenge launched last year, which places Google and Bing search return next to each other, and asks users to rate which returns they think are better.
Bill Gates, now non-executive chairman of Microsoft and co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, answered over 30 questions, and took part in a video and photo promo, for the Reddit AMA.
