Giant video wall to grace Manchester skyline

A glimpse into the future of outdoor advertising has been unveiled in the form of a giant video wall in Manchester.

The Property Alliance Group has gained planning permission to erect the LED screen, which it claims will be the world’s largest, on its landmark an 18 storey office tower. Located adjacent to Manchester Central, which incorporates the G-Mex conference and exhibition centre, the screen will measure 51 metres high by 12 metres wide.

It will be seen by commuters at nearby transport links, blue chip companies in surrounding buildings and visitors to Manchester Central. Advertising space is to be offered to Manchester City Council, the building’s occupiers and advertisers.

Dominic Pozzoni, director at Property Alliance Group, says, “Axis is going to be a striking headquarters office tower and an iconic building in Manchester. Building works are due to commence on site shortly and being situated at the heart of the city centre, we anticipate seeing significant interest from both office occupiers and advertising agencies wishing to be part of this exciting development.”

Construction of the screen begins in August and will be completed in the spring of 2009.
