Google ends sales of Google Glass

Google is temporarily shelving its Glass product.

Software developers will no longer be able to purchase the wearable device for £990 on the brand’s Explorer Programme.

The company will also stop working with businesses that are utilising the technology.

However, Google has promised it is working on a new smart glass product. This project will be carried out by a different team.

In a Google Plus update the company thanked the developers that worked on the Explorer Programme and explained: ‘Glass was in its infancy, and you took those very first steps and taught us how to walk. Well, we still have some work to do, but now we’re ready to put on our big kid shoes and learn how to run.’
