Google India has launched a new advertising campaign aimed to raise awareness among Indian agencies and marketers about its display advertising platform. This is the first time the search giant promotes its display network at scale in India.
The new campaign, named ‘Watch this space’, will feature online, print, direct mail, and outdoor ads. It uses Google’s primary colour scheme with blue, yellow, red, and green advertising spaces.
Through the ‘Watch the space’ campaign, Google India aims to consolidate its positioning in the display market by keeping the momentum going, as it has seen the revenues from advertising on its display network almost double in the last year. The company also wants to help improve display advertising in India, as well as to show the opportunities in the area for agencies and marketers.
Shailesh Rao, head of media and platform for Japan-APAC at Google, said, “Globally, display is now a $2.5 billion business for Google. ‘Watch this space’ is about the exciting changes taking place in the industry and the potential for display advertising to be a truly engaging, relevant, and measurable medium. We think there’s enormous room not only to improve but also to grow the entire display advertising industry several orders of magnitude for the benefit of advertisers, agencies, and publishers.”
