Google tells marketers ‘don’t be scared’

Speaking at B2B Marketing’s annual conference, Richard Robinson industry leader at Google told marketers, “Don’t be scared about how fast the digital world is moving.”

He revealed that in 2010 worldwide Internet users reached 1.8 billion, and with technology use growing and developing, he said marketers should not be worried – instead they should be using the Internet as a tool to get ideas from their target audience.

Robinson also predicted that mobile phones would become the primary device for Internet access. In August this year, 10 per cent of search terms on Google came from mobile devices. He added that B2B businesses need to optimise their website for mobile if they haven’t already done so.
