Google has made another major swipe at Facebook and Twitter’s social media domination by opening up to brand pages on Google Plus.
The pages will allow companies to engage with their customer bases much like they already can on other social media networks, and the search giant says it will not charge for the service.
Companies can split the people that follow them into different demographics using the ‘Circles’ feature in Google Plus.
Google will launch more features and refine the service as it continues its battle with Facebook.
But it should be remembered that Mark Zuckerberg’s social behemoth still boasts around ten times more members, with current figures sitting around the 500 million mark.
