Gyro International has acquired specialist healthcare PR agency, hsdcommunications, for an undisclosed sum.
The deal completes the B2B agency’s move to strengthen its expertise in the healthcare and biotech arena, following the acquisition of Woolley Pau in November and bio-chemical marketing specialist Cicero in March.
Hsdcommunications primarily operates in public relations and medical education on behalf of companies in the over-the-counter and prescription medicine, medical devices and complementary healthcare sectors. The company has a turnover of £2 million and a staff of 20 people.
Gary Brine, CEO of Gyro International, says, “Gyro International can now offer our clients every aspect of the healthcare marketing mix with the addition to our group of the public relations expertise provided by hsdcommunications. Healthcare is a key market for Gyro, and this latest acquisition completes the picture for us in terms of the solution we can provide. Hsdcommunications is a well established and respected PR company with a reputation for excellence in its field and exceptional client service. It shares our values”.
Lesley Scott, hsdcommunications founder and MD, adds, “Joining the Gyro group is a great decision for hsdcommunications and for our clients. We will be able to offer the same quality PR programmes and commitment to excellence as we have for the last ten years. However, now we can engage with Gyro’s global network and integrated communications platform to add even more value to our clients’ marketing campaigns”.
Gyro has made no secret of the fact it wishes to expand its range of vertical markets and is believed to be on verge of closing further deals with a client in the energy sector and a research company.
