News is filtering through that an Apple employee has managed to leave their top secret iPhone 5 (or 4G or 4S, or whatever the new one will be called) in a San Francisco bar…
It is not the first time specially selected Apple testers have managed to leave top secret versions of unreleased hardware lying around (it happened with the iPhone4 last year).
No images or details of the device have surfaced on the internet but further details of the story can be found by clicking here.
My question is: is it being done on purpose?
Do Apple have a problem with the competency of their staff?
Or is it yet another well-orchestrated ploy from Apple’s excellent marketing department?
*(I’m tempted to go for the second option, given that no information has been leaked that would serve to undermine the usual pomp and ceremony at the phone’s imminent launch).
